The M79 is a novelty of a weapon. This grenade launcher can be found very rarely in the game, it may take several gameplays before putting your hands on this rare weapon.
You fire it as if you were about to lob a grenade, the projectile is lobbed and explodes on impact. A red tracer will appear, as if throwing a grenade. Due to it's power and explosive nature, it can be used to destroy hostile vehicles or to force players off cover. Keep in mind that the weapon and the ammunition are rare, and if you ever find one, you may be stuck with it's initial ammo and the ones that spawns near it.
